Additional notes
Care should be taken not to overload the connector during termination as this could result in damage. A positive stop should
be incorporated into the termination tooling to prevent over termination.
Blue sealing gel mats should be kept clean and dry prior to connector termination. A quick visual check can be done prior to
termination.
Cable pierce terminals can be damaged if the pre terminated connector is dropped. Damage to these pins may result in an
open circuit.
If possible an electrical test should be conducted after each connector termination to verify that continuity has been made to
each conductor and that there is no short circuit between conductors.
Cable punching and connector termination needs to be completed in a dry, controlled environment as there is a risk of hipot
failures or short circuits due to moisture ingress prior to final connector closure.
The terminated connector should be kept dry prior to mating with the FLX-60 pixel.
The cable length between the Amphenol connector and the first FLX-60 socket should be half the cable pitch. Otherwise, the
extra length must be considered as an extension cable.
The cable length between the Amphenol connector and the last FLX-60 socket should be half the cable pitch. Otherwise, the
extra length must be considered as an extension cable.
