Turn Power on:
The OCIE48EH Elite Heater normally operates in a state of readiness meaning
that the power to the unit is left in the "remote" position but powers down waiting for a
command from the remote control. This uses a minimal drain on the batteries or your
household power if you have the heater hooked up to AC power. Therefore there is no
need to turn any switch on other than the "on" button the remote.
Lighting Instructions:
Lighting the Heater can be accomplished only by using the remote control.
1. To turn the heater "ON" you must simply press the "ON" button while the gas
supply is turned on. The heater will simply go through its cycle of turning the pilot burn-
er on and then automatically turn the heater main burner on. Once lit the Heater
defaults to the "HI" setting for 15 seconds and then reverts to whatever setting it was on
the last time it was operated. The HI setting will burn at 34'000 BTU's per hour. You
can press the "LOW" button to turn the heater down to low which burns at 25,000 BTU's
per hour.
WARNING:
wait 5 minutes before trying to re-lite to allow any gas to dissipate.
NOTES:
Some white smoke and green flame may appear during the initial start-up of
the heater but it will dissipate with proceeding use.
If burner fails to ignite, use the remote to turn heater to "OFF" and
