2. a. Fold the garment away from the hem.
b. Leave1/8 inch of the hem edge exposed.
3. a. With the wrong side up, place the fabric
under the foot.
b. Lower the presser foot.
c. Stitch so that the needle just pierces the
fold when the needle swings to the left.
