Overriding The Mini-Motorhome Slideout System

The Power Gear slideout system is equipped with a manual crank override that allows
you to extend or retract the slideout if there is a loss of power.
If the system will not move when the switch is pressed, check the following:
• Is the system turned on?
• Is the battery connected? and
• Does the battery have a full charge?
• Are the travel bars removed?
After chacking the above, follow these steps to move the slideout manually:
1.
Make sure that the ON/OFF switch for the system is turned OFF. The override will
not work if the switch is turned ON.
2.
Rotate the lever on the back side of the motor counter-clockwise about 1/8 turn (fig.
3). This will release the brake that locks the slideout in place.
3.
Locate the quick disconnect located on the motor wire and disconnect. (fig. 1) If the
motor wire does not have a quick disconnect, locate the red wire coming out of the
motor and cut that wire 4 to 6 inches from the motor.
4.
Access the manual over ride located behind the driver's seat. Using a 3/4" or 1/2"
drive 3/4" socket, crank slideout until fully retracted (or extended).
5.
When the slideout if fully retracted (or extended), apply pressure to the ratchet
handle and return the brake release lever to its normal downward position (fig. 3).
This will ensure that the slideout is locked in a sealed position.
6.
Re-connect the motor wire quick disconnect. (fig. 1)
7.
Install the travel bars and take the unit to a Jayco dealer for service.
