Convec bake
(some models)
Benefits of the convec bake feature
— Foods cook more evenly
— Multiple rack baking
— No special pans or bakeware needed
Convec bake uses a fan to circulate the oven's heat
uniformly and continuously around the oven. This improved
heat distribution allows for fast, even cooking and browning
results. It also gives better baking results when using
multiple oven racks.
Heated air flows around the food from all sides, sealing in
juices and flavors. Meats cooked with convec bake are
juicer. Poultry is crisp on the outside while staying tender
and moist on the inside. Breads and pastry brown more
evenly. Most foods baked in a standard oven can be cooked
faster and more evenly with convec bake.
Suggestions for convec bake
When baking
For optimum cooking results it is recommended to
preheat the oven when baking foods such as cookies,
biscuits and breads.
Reduce oven temperature 25°F from recipe's
recommended oven temperature. Follow the remainder
of the recipe's instructions using the minimum
recommended cook time.
When using 2 oven racks at the same time, place in
positions 2 & 5 for best results (See Fig. 1).
When roasting
Preheating is not necessary when roasting foods using
convec bake.
Reduce the cook time by 25% from the recommended
cook time of your recipe. Check the food at this time. If
necessary, increase cook time until the desired
doneness is obtained.
NOTES
• When using convec bake, any cook time reductions
used may need to vary depending on the oven set
temperature.
• When baking layer cakes, use the bake feature to
obtain the best possible results.
• If the oven door is opened when convec bake is active,
the convec fan will stop rotating until the oven door is
closed.

Setting convec bake
When setting convec bake the oven may be programmed
for any temperature from 170°F to 550°F (77°C to 287°C).
The factory default temperature is 350°F (177°C).
To set convec bake:
1. Press convec bake. "— — —" appears in the display.
2. Within 5 seconds, press the
will show 350°F (177°C). By pressing and holding
the

, the temperature may be adjusted in
5°F increments (1°C if the control is set to display
Celsius).
3. As soon as the
or
will begin heating to the set temperature. When the
oven temperature reaches the desired baking
temperature, the preheat indicator light will turn OFF
and the control will beep 3 times.
To stop convec bake at anytime press clear off keypad.
To change the oven temperature after convec bake
has started:
1. Press convec bake key pad.
2. If necessary, press the
decrease the oven set temperature.
