  • What types of cookware are recommended for use on a Frigidaire electric range's glass cooktop?

For use on a Frigidaire electric range's glass cooktop, cookware with flat bottoms that make good contact with the entire element is recommended. You can check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.

    Recommended cookware materials:

    • Aluminum: Excellent heat conductor. Note that aluminum pans sliding across the cooktop can leave metal marks.
    • Copper: Excellent heat conductor but discolors easily and may leave metal marks.
    • Stainless: Slow heat conductor but durable and easy to clean.
    • Porcelain-enamel on metal: Heating characteristics vary; ensure the coating is smooth to avoid scratching.
    • Glazed cooking utensils: Only certain types of glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazed utensils are suitable without breaking due to sudden temperature changes. Check the manufacturer's recommendations.

Cookware to avoid or use with caution:

    • Cast Iron: Not recommended for ceramic cooktops.
    • Glass: Not recommended for ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the glass.

    Proper cookware characteristics:
