ATTENTION: If fans will not start, verify that the overload relays for each fan are reset. To reset a relay, pull the red test tab
fully out. A "click" should be heard, and a yellow trip indicator should extend towards the operator unless the unit is already
tripped. Next, press the blue reset button fully inward. Again, a "click" should be heard. The overload relay is now reset.
5. Increase speed reference from minimum/zero to full scale (door mounted speed potentiometer to ten). Fans should accelerate
smoothly from 10 Hz to 60 Hz (maximum fan speed. If controller trips on any faults, refer to "Troubleshooting Allen-Bradley
Controllers" (p. 68).
6. Monitor fan operation for 30 to 60 minutes in order to verify satisfactory operation. If the fan system is going to suffer from any
condition conducive of a fault, it will happen during this time frame with the exception of an unknown power condition (refer to pp.
58, 67-68).
7. Using a current clamp, verify current draw for each motor. If necessary, adjust each overload relay to 115% of the value measured.
Multi-fan controls rely on overload relays to protect the fans individually in an over-current situation.
8. Stop the fans and de-energize the controller as instructed in Step 4. Wait for the "F004" fault to clear. Close the door to the
controller and make sure to lock the enclosure latch (4). Re-energize the controller by turning the disconnect handle (3) to the "ON"
position. Wait at least 5 seconds for the VFD to pre-charge. Return the fans to normal operation by using the "3 Position Switch"
(2).
CAUTION: Never use the "Disconnect Switch" (3) as an ON/OFF switch. This practice will result in damage to the fan that is
not covered by the warranty.
