The air suspension system is designed to improve ride, handling and general vehicle driving performance.
Ride is improved by using an air-type spring.
Handling is improved by maintaining constant vehicle trim.

Door Ajar Input

The rear air suspension control module also uses DOOR AJAR input from the driver door module to perform two different functions:
Preventing vents when a door is open to avoid the possibility of the vehicle lowering and the door catching on an obstruction.
Making a correction in height immediately after the doors are closed, if needed.

Air Suspension Switch

The air suspension switch cuts power to the rear air suspension control module and is located on the LH side of the luggage compartment.
The air suspension switch supplies a signal to the rear air suspension control module and must always be turned off before working on any air suspension component or whenever the
vehicle is being towed, raised or lowered. If the air suspension switch is turned off, the "AIR SUSPENSION" prompt will appear in the LH corner of the cluster when the ignition switch is in
the RUN position.

Air Compressor Assembly

The air compressor assembly:
Consists of the compressor and vent solenoid.
Is mounted on the LH side of the engine compartment.
Is a single cylinder electric motor unit that provides pressurized air as commanded by the rear air suspension control module.
Is powered by a solid state relay, and controlled by the rear air suspension control module.
Passes pressurized air through the air compressor drier.
Uses a snorkel to channel away water before it enters the drier.
