Manual Transmission

If your vehicle is equipped with a
manual transmission, this is your
vehicle's shift pattern.
Your vehicle has a feature that
allows you to shift into R (Reverse)
if the vehicle is moving less than 5
km/h (3 mph).
You should also use the R (Reverse)
position when parking your
vehicle.
See "Vehicle Parking" later in this
section for more information.
The 6-speed manual transmission
has a spring that centers the gear-
shift lever near third and fourth
gears to help you know which gear
you are in while you are shifting.
Be careful when shifting from first
to second gear or from sixth to
fifth gear. The spring will try to pull
the gearshift lever toward the third
and fourth gears. Make sure you
move the lever into second or fifth
gear, as necessary. Otherwise, you
may end up accidentally shifting
from first gear into fourth gear or
from sixth gear into third gear.
