• Do not start the engine when standing in front of the discharge chute.
• Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts. Keep clear of the discharge
opening at all times
• Avoid operating the appliance in wet grass, where feasible.
• Always be sure of your footing on slopes.
• Walk, never run.
• Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
• Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the appliance towards you.
• Never operate the appliance with defective guards or shields, or without safety devi-
ces, for example deflectors and/or grass catchers, in place.
• Do not tilt the appliance when switching on the motor, except if the appliance has to
be tilted for starting. In this case, do not tilt it more than absolutely necessary and lift
only the part which is away from the operator. Always ensure that both hands are in
the operating position before returning the appliance to the ground.
• Never pick up or carry an appliance while the motor is running.
• Pull the plug from the socket:
• Whenever you leave the machine;
• Before clearing a blockage;
• Before checking, cleaning or working on the appliance;
• After striking a foreign object. Inspect the appliance for damage and make
repairs as necessary;
• If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately).

Maintenance and storage

• Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure
• To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine, silencer, battery compartment and petrol
storage area free of grass, thatch, moss, leaves or excessive grease.
• Examine the machine regularly and replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
• Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight to be sure the appliance is in safe working con-
dition.
• Check the grass catcher frequently for wear of deterioration.
• Replace worn of damaged parts for safety.

3. ASSEMBLY

Handle

• Insert the lower handle tube into main body.
• Tighten the lower handle unit on the main body with help of a screw on each side
• Secure the electrical supply tube cable to the lower handle tube using the cable clip
provided.
• Loosely connect the upper handle with lower handle
• Assemble the handle using securing bolts. The bolt should be on the outside and the
nut on the inside.
• Place complete handle unit on the main body.

• Place the Electric Lawn Rake in its working position
• Fit the grass collection bag on to the main body,
• Insert the grass collection bag support bars into the holes at the front of the main body.

4. USE

Switching ON/OFF

• Push the round button with one hand
• Draw and hold the switch handle with another hand
• Release the round button
• Hold the switch handle during the entire period of Electric Lawn Rake operation
• Releasing the switch handle will switch off the Electric Lawn Rake

Adjusting the cutting height

There are three raking height positions on your electric lawn rake: low, medium and high.
These are selected by altering the position of the three-position height adjusters located on
the rear roller.
• Press the lock buttons on each three-position height adjuster and rotate both
adjusters
• Release the lock buttons and allow them to engage in the main body
Note 1: Both three-position height adjusters (left-right) must be set to the same position.
Note 2: The front wheels (also adjustable in 3 positions) should be in same position as
rear roller. Example: when rear roller is in low position, front wheels should also be in low
position.
Use different positions
Low: Use this setting for a vigorous rake and removing moss and weeds.
Medium: Use this setting for a moderate raking. Suitable for most lawns.
High: Use this setting for a light rake and sweeping the lawn or lifting flattened grass. Also
ideal for raking fallen leaves.
Tips
• To obtain the best results, rake your lawn regularly but do not rake when the grass is wet.
• Press downwards on the handle to stop the wheels from dropping over the edge,
when raking over the edge of the lawn.
• To extend the life of the point-assembly remove debris and stones from the lawn.
• Do not force the electric lawn rake through grass over 75mm/3 inch long.
• Start with raking in one direction. Then proceed at right angles until the whole lawn
has been completed.
• At the beginning and end of each grass cutting season give your lawn a thorough
scarifying.
