Settings for digital signal input

Selecting input signal
HDV indicator light
Selecting digital input signal
Set the INPUT SELECT switch located on
the front panel to HDV/DV.
Inputs IEEE1394 terminal HDV or DV digital
video.
For audio, digital audio is input from the
IEEE1394 terminal.
Settings for digital video format
Set according to whether the IEEE1394 termi-
nal input video format is HDV or DV.
Set the IEEE1394 switch on the front panel,
according to the video format of the input
signal.
HDV
: To input HDV format signals, set to
this position. The HDV indicator on
the front panel will light.
DV
: To input DV format signals, set to
this position. The HDV indicator on
the front panel will turn off.

Memo
During digital signal input, make sure the
IEEE1394 switch setting matches the input
signal video format. When the switch setting
does not match the video format, no recording
operation is available.
During HDV signal input, match the HD signal
format (60Hz or 50Hz) to the input signal for-
mat.

Settings for recording the time code
Select the time code to record, from the data in
the built-in time code generator or from the
time code data input from the IEEE1394 termi-
nal, using TC DUPLI.: DV in the TC/UB/
CLOCK [1/2] Menu screen. To record the time
code from the IEEE1394 terminal, set TC
DUPLI.: DV to AUTO or NON DROP. (In DV
mode only)

Audio mode
During digital signal input, the audio mode is
identical to the IEEE1394 terminal input signal
mode.
DV format : 48K, 44.1K, or 32K mode
HDV format : 48K mode
During digital signal input, the AUDIO MODE:
DV setting in the AUDIO menu is invalid.
Time/Date display
During DV signal input, data from the built-in
clock cannot be recorded.
The date/time data input from the IEEE1394
terminal is recorded, regardless of the menu
settings.
