2. Folding Finishing Strip Screw Tabs: Hold fi nishing strip
in front of inner slots located on front face of fi replace.
With the notched end of fi nishing strip in the lower posi-
tion fold screw tabs out. Do this to both fi nishing strips
to create a left and right. NOTE: There are two rows of
slots; both an inner and an outer row. The outer row is
only used with the Decorative Arch.
3. Finishing Strip Attachment: With the notched end of
the fi nishing strip in the lower position, insert tabs into
inner slots. Secure tabs with screws provided (see
Figure 13.5).
4. Identify side and bottom strips and repeat steps 2 and 3.
CAUTION! Risk of Fire! The non-combustible board is
required for the CFX-Crescent. Do not remove it.
Bricking with Standard Door Front ONLY
1. Corner Brick Finishing: Corner brick veneer (7-1/2 in.
x 2 x 1/2 in.) with a 1-1/2 in. return edge will be used
in this illustration. Because fi replace front is recessed
back from the wall, corner brick is a preferred choice to
give the fi replace depth.
2. Brick Placement: Place corner brick front edge fl ush
against fi nishing strip. On both sides of fi replace main-
tain an 1/8 in. space from inside edge to corner brick
edge (see Figure 13.6).
NOTE: Any style brick, stone, tile, marble or non-com-
bustible material may be used in the fi nishing process.
It is recommended to lay fi nishing material in place prior
to setting to achieve the best fi nished appearance.
