Network Ports

The switch has 8 auto-sensing 10/100Base-TX ports with RJ-45
connectors. All ports, except port 8, are wired as MDI-X ports. Port 8
can operate as either MDI-X or MDI, as controlled by the MDI-X/MDI
Select button.

MDI-X/MDI Select Button

This button is used to select an MDI-X or MDI connection for port 8.
Selecting MDI enables port 8 to be used as a cascade port for
connecting to another switch or hub using straight-through cable.
Selecting MDI-X makes port 8 operate the same as the other ports.
They are used to connect computers, servers, printers and other end
nodes using straight-through cables.
