When the engine starts and the accelerator pedal is
released, the control lever returns to the idle
position and the tension of the governor spring
becomes zero. Therefore, the flyweight opens
outwardly even at low revolutions to move the
governor sleeve to the right.
This makes the start lever turn clockwise with M
2
being the fulcrum to move the control sleeve in the
direction to reduce the fuel volume. The governor
sleeve stops at a point where the flyweight
centrifugal and idle spring force are balanced to
ensure stable idling.
