10. COMMON TROUBLES AND THEIR REMEDY

Air in fuel supply system.

Pump the system through with a hand-operated boost
pump refer to Section 7.6.1). Remove air in-leaks in
the fuel system, if required.
Dismantle the fuel pump from the diesel-engine and
have it sent to the workshop for repair.
Adjust the fuel pump control tie-rods.
Replace the filtering element.
Locate faulty nozzles, flush and adjust them.
Set the fuel injection advance angle as recommended.
Service the air-cleaner.
Bleed air from the fuel system
Adjust the idle-run spring.
Dismantle the fuel pump from the diesel-engine and
have it sent to the workshop for repair.
Service the air-cleaner.
Locate a faulty nozzle, flush or replace the atomizer,
adjust the nozzle, if required.
Refill with recommended fuel grade.
Dismantle the fuel pump from the diesel-engine and
have it sent to the workshop for repair.
Warm the diesel-engine up; when at work, maintain
coolant temperature within 70...95
Adjust the valve-to-rock arm clearances.
Change the fuel.
Set recommended fuel injection advance angle
