SIGNAL SYSTEM CHECK

1. Flasher light and/or turn indicator light does
not blink.
1. Flasher/turn indicator light bulb and socket
S Check the flasher/turn indicator light bulb and
socket for continuity.
S Are the flasher/turn indicator light bulb and
socket OK?
YES
2. Turn switch
S Refer to "SWITCH INSPECTION".
S Is the turn switch OK?
YES
3. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
hazard relay coupler.
Tester (+) lead ! Brown/Red terminal
Tester (–) lead ! Frame ground
S Turn the main switch to "ON" or "P".
S Check for voltage (12 V) on the "Brouwn/Red"
lead at the flasher relay terminal.
S Is the voltage within specification.
YES
NO
Replace the flash-
er/turn indicator light
balb, socket or both.
NO
Replace the left han-
dlebar switch.

Wiring circuit from
main switch to hazard
relay connector is
faulty, repair.

4. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
flasher relay coupler.
Tester (+) lead ! Brown/Red terminal
Tester (–) lead ! Frame ground
S Turn the main switch to "ON" or "P".
S Check for voltage (12 V) on the "Brown/Red"
lead at the flasher relay terminal.
S Is the voltage within specification.
YES
5. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
flasher relay lead.
Tester (+) lead ! Brown/White terminal
Tester (–) lead ! Frame ground
