SIGNAL SYSTEM CHECK
1. If the fuel level warning light fails to come on
or the fuel meter fails to operate:
1. Bulb and bulb socket
S Check the bulb and bulb socket for continu-
ity.
2. Fuel sender
S Drain the fuel and remove the fuel sender
from the fuel tank.
S Disconnect the fuel sender coupler from the
wire harness.
S Connect the pocket tester (Ω
sender.
S Check the fuel sender for continuity.
Tester (+) lead ! Green terminal
Tester (–) lead ! Black terminal
S Measure the fuel sender resistance.
Fuel sender resistance
: 4 X 10 Ω at 20_C

: 122.5 X 128.5 Ω at 20_C

3. Voltage
S Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
meter assembly coupler.
Tester (+) lead ! Brown terminal
Tester (–) lead ! BLACK terminal
S Drain the fuel.
S Turn the main switch to "ON".
S Check the voltage (12 V).

NO CONTINUITY
Replace the bulb and/or bulb socket.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
Replace the fuel sender.
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
The wiring circuit from the main switch to the
bulb socket connector is faulty, repair it.
