What IP Address Must You Assign for the FRITZ!Box Fon
WLAN and What Else Must Be Taken into Consideration?
The IP address must come from the address range of
your existing subnet.
The subnet mask must correspond with that of the con-
nected subnet.
When the DHCP server of the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN is en-
abled, the addresses 20 through 200 in the fourth
group of numerals of the IP address are reserved for the
DHCP server. If none of the computers in your network
has an address from this pool, the DHCP server can re-
main switched on. If one of the computers has a fixed
address assigned from this pool, you should switch off
the DHCP server.
If you can no longer open the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN user
interface after entering the IP address, see the informa-
tion in the section "Errors Opening the User Interface"
from page 77.

Reserved IP Addresses

The following address range is reserved in FRITZ!Box Fon
WLAN for internal purposes.
192.168.180.1 - 192.168.180.254
IP addresses from this range may not be assigned to
FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN.
How Can the IP Address Be Changed?
1.
Open the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN user interface (see the
section "Opening the User Interface" from page 33).
2.
Click "Expert Mode" in the "System" menu, enable the
setting "Show expert settings" and confirm this setting
by clicking "Apply".
3.
Open the "System / Network Settings" menu.
4.
Click the "IP Addresses" button.
