Chapter 5
Display (LCD)
Various information is shown in the display (LCD: Liquid Crystal Display) on the Control Unit. This
chapter describes some of the frequently displayed indications.
Song Number
The number of the selected song is displayed in
two large digits.
Song number
Selected Disk
Letters and numbers indicating the currently
selected disk are displayed. "Fd" is displayed for
the floppy disk, and "0" to "9" and "A" to "F" for
the 16 Memory Disks.
("Fd" appears only when a floppy disk is inserted
in the floppy disk drive.)
Selected disk
Disk Title
When you select a disk for playback, the title of
the selected disk scrolls across the display.
Song Title
The title of a song appears during song playback.
Time Display
When the Disklavier is not playing, the current
time is displayed in hours and minutes. The
separator colon blinks each second.

Counter Display

Playing time is indicated in one of two formats:
Minutes and seconds, as shown below.
Or, Measures and beats, as shown below.
When the time display format is measures and
beats, the tempo of the song is also shown on the
display in beats per minute (bpm).
All PianoSoft disks use the minutes and seconds
format.
☛ Songs recorded with the measures and beats format
can be converted to the minutes and seconds
format. See "Changing the Counter Display" on
page 50.
Pedal Data
Songs supplied on PianoSoft disks may contain
one of two types of pedal data: on/off pedal data
or continuous pedal data (half pedal).
On/off pedal data turns the pedals on and off. It
is indicated by angle brackets (
