The SGI 1400 server is designed to either be mounted in a rack (rack mode) or stand
upright (pedestal mode). Figure 1 shows examples of these configurations. You must
contact your sales or service provider and purchase an adapter kit if you wish to change
the configuration of your server from one mode to another after receiving the unit.
For instructions on mounting your rack-mode server in a 19-inch equipment rack, see the
SGI 1400 Server Family User's Guide.
