3.11 CHARGING TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
I. Charge Light does not come
on when car is put on charge and
'INSERT PLUG FULL' message.
II. Temperature Light is on while
charging.
iii. Car does not charge with 'CHARGE
FAULT' message on cluster.
RCD:
I. OK LED not ON
II. Fault LED ON
III. RESET Button tripped

Charging
POSSIBLE CAUSE
There may not be power supply at
External Power Source.
Charging Cable may not be properly
connected to Power Source or not
inserted properly to Charge Port.
Charging time of car may
increase due to high battery /
charger or ambient temperature.
May be problem in charging system.
Power supply interrupted, may not
be switched on or earthing is not
OK.
Power supply voltage is low or high.
High leakage current at charge plug.
Earth leakage current is high
REMEDY
Power Supply needs to be restored /
ensured.
Re-insert charging cable to Power Source
and / or push handle fully on to Charge
base Plate and observe on cluster
message 'Insert plug full' goes off.
Check for cooling fan noise and charge in
shade/cooler temperature or during
night when ambient temperature is low.
Contact dealer for assistance.
Restore power supply / switch on power
or get earth of point rectified.
Get supply voltage corrected.
Get plug point wiring rectified.
(Reset RCD and check)
Get earth circuit rectified.
