GENERATOR
Your motor home is equipped with a diesel-powered generator which will
provide complete electrical self-containment when regular public utility AC
power is unavailable. Controls are on the instrument panel and on the generator
control box located under the top entry step on front entry door models, and
inside the doorside front storage compartment on side entry door models.
With the generator operating, power is available at all of the 120-volt power
outlets in the motor home, just as if the cord were connected to an external
source. The generator is also connected to the power converter, thus supplying
12-volt power as well. The generator circuit breakers are located under the top
entry step on front entry door models, and inside the doorside front storage
compartment on side entry door models.
GENERATOR FUEL SUPPLY
Fuel for the generator is taken from the main fuel tank through a special
feeder tube which is higher in the tank than the feeder tube to the motor home
engine. This arrangement prevents the generator from running the motor home
fuel tank dry.
GENERATOR OPERATION
NOTE: Referto the generator operating instructions provided
in your Owner's Information Package forinformation before
starting the generator. Do not start the generator unit with
a
heavy power load. Always wait at least three minutes after
starting generator before turning on (or plugging in) heavy
electrical loads, such
as the roof air conditioner.
To start the generator:
Press the generator PRE-HEAT button for no more than 30
seconds. Pressing the PRE-HEAT button for longer than 30
seconds could burn out the pre-heat glow plugs.
Press START switch until generator is running.
