' Material defective

' Teeth in contact with material

before starting the cut

' Insufficient coolant

This section deals with problems which may occur during machine operation. The

MEP 24 controller allows you to test all the machine electrical and electronic

devices by checking the status of the input and output signals on the IUD/IUV

card.

Displaying the diagnostics menu

" Power up the machine as per the instructions in Chapter 5;

" press F6 to access machine diagnostics;

" press RESET to enable the digital outputs.

Should access to the diagnostics menu prove impossible, then press F3 imme-

diately after powering up the machine;

SOLUTION

.The materials may present

altered zones either on the

surface, such as oxides or

sand, or in section, such as

under--cooled inclusions.

These zones, which are

much harder than the blade,

cause the teeth to break: dis-

card or clean these materials.

.Reduce head speed.

.Always check the position of

the blade before starting a

new job.

.Check the coolant level and

clean piping and nozzles.

.Workpiece vibrates in the

vice: check that the slide is

regulated correctly; check the

clamping pressure and if nec-

essary increase.
