Clean your motorcycle regularly to protect
the surface finishes and inspect for damage,
wear, and oil or hydraulic fluid seepage.
1. Clean
the
windshield
with
a soft
cloth or sponge and plenty of water.
Dry with a soft clean cloth. Remove
minor
scratches
with
commercially
available plastic polishing compound.
Replace the windshield if scratches
cannot be removed and they obstruct
clear vision.
CAUTION:
,. Do not let battery electrolyte or other
acid chemicals get on the windshield.
They will damage the plastic.

Avoid spraying high pressure water
(typical
in
coin-operated car washes) at
the following areas:
Brake master cylinders
Radiator fins
Wheel hubs
Muffler outlets
Top compartment
Under
seal

Ignition switch
Steering lock
Handlebar switches
2. After cleaning, rinse the motorcycle
thorougWy with plenty of clean water.
Strong detergent residue can corrode
alloy parts.
3. Dry the motorcycle, start the engine,
and let it run for several minutes.
Braking performance may be impaired
immediately after washing the motor·
cycle.
4. Test the brakes before riding the motor·
cycle in traffic. Several applications
may be necessary to restore normal
braking performance.
Aluminum Wheel Maintenance
Aluminum corrodes when it comes in
contact with dust, mud, road salt, etc.
After riding, clean the wheels with a wet
