Description
This rule specifies whether a BlackBerry® device user must update the application loader tool manually when an updated version
is available and the user is updating the BlackBerry® Device Software using BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
Default value
The default value is Yes. The BlackBerry Desktop Manager updates the application loader tool automatically if an updated version
is available.
Usage
If you change this rule to No, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager does not check for an updated version of the application loader
tool and the user must update it manually.
Minimum requirements
• BlackBerry® Desktop Software 5.0 SP1
• BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 5.0 SP2

Generate Encrypted Backup Files IT policy rule

Description
This rule specifies whether a BlackBerry® device creates encrypted backup files.
Default value
The default value is No. A BlackBerry device does not create encrypted backup files.

• BlackBerry® Desktop Software version 4.7.1
• BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP7
Exceptions
The BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Novell® GroupWise® does not support this rule.
