The oil tank on the Ozito CSE-355 chainsaw could be leaking due to the following reasons:

1. The chain oiling filler cap (10) may not be properly tightened or could be damaged, allowing oil to escape.
2. Dirt or debris may have entered the oil tank during filling, preventing a proper seal.
3. The oil tank may be overfilled, leading to leakage.
4. There could be a crack or damage in the oil tank or oil lines.

Proper care during filling and regular inspection can help prevent leaks.

To put the chain on and adjust the Ozito CSE-355:

1. Remove the bar securing nut (8) and the side panel (9).
2. Fit the chain (6) over the guide bar (7), ensuring the cutters face the direction of rotation.
3. Place the guide bar (7) and chain (6) onto the chainsaw, ensuring the chain is around the sprocket wheel (B).
4. Adjust the chain tensioning screw (C) using the flat end of the spanner/chain tension adjustor (14) until the bolt (A) fits into the hole in the guide bar (7).
5. Reattach the side panel (9) and replace the bar securing nut (8), tightening it finger tight only.
6. Adjust the chain tension using the chain tensioning screw (C) until the chain can be pulled 3mm away from the guide bar (7) with your finger and thumb.
7. Finally, tighten the bar securing nut (8) using the spanner/chain tension adjustor (14).

If your Ozito CSE-355 is smoking and spraying fire from the motor, the carbon brushes may be worn out. When the brushes wear out, the chainsaw may spark or stop working. You should stop using the chainsaw immediately and contact Ozito customer service for replacement brushes. Always replace both brushes at the same time.

  • Page 9 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHAINSAWS (cont.) Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards the operator. Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw which could result in serious personal injury.
  • Page 10: Operation

OPERATION BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR DISASSEMBLING THE CHAIN (6) BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE CHAINSAW FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING THE CHAIN (6), THE CHAIN (6) IS VERY SHARP AND CAN CUT YOU WHEN IT IS NOT MOVING. Fitting the Guide Bar and Chain Fig.
  • Page 11 OPERATION (cont.) Adjust the chain tensioning screw (C) using the flat end of Fig. 5 the spanner/chain tension adjustor (14) until the bolt (A) fits into the hole in the guide bar (7) (Fig. 5). Fit the side panel (9) back onto the chainsaw, then replace the bar securing nut (8).
  • Page 12 OPERATION (cont.) Chain Oiling The guide bar (7) and chain (6) require lubrication Fig. 7 to reduce friction, the automatic oiler provides lubrication to the chain (6) and guide bar (7) while the chainsaw is operating. Always fill the oil tank prior to using the chainsaw (Fig.
  • Page 13 OPERATION (cont.) Re-tensioning the Chain When working with the chainsaw, the chain (6) expands as a result of the heat generated. With the chain (6) expanding, the tension slackens and the chain (6) can slip off the guide bar (7). If the chain (6) is tensioned in this condition, it is very important to release the tension once cutting is completed, otherwise the chain (6) may contract so much on cooling, it will be excessively tight.
  • Page 14: Using The Chainsaw

USING THE CHAINSAW When cutting timber resting on the ground, never allow the chainsaw chain (6) to cut into the soil, this will dull the chain (6) immediately. The chainsaw chain (6) is not covered under warranty. When cutting trunks resting on a slope the operator should always stand uphill of the trunk.
  • Page 15 USING THE CHAINSAW (cont.) Guide Bar The guide bar (7) should be checked and cleaned of saw chips and dust after each use, clean the groove in the guide bar (7) and add oil to the oil holes at the drive sprocket end of the guide bar (7).
  • Page 16: Maintenance

MAINTENANCE Chain Sharpening The chain (6) on the CSE-355 chainsaw can be sharpened using a 5/32" size file. A sharp chain generates wood chips during the cut, a dull chain generates sawdust powder and produces a slow cut. Chain sharpening requires special tools. Chain sharpening tools can be purchased at your local Bunnings Warehouse.
