The Remote Control fails to work.
Possible causes:
(1) The batteries are low.
(2) The batteries have been inserted incorrectly.
(3) The Remote Control is pointing at the floor or
a seat.
(4) The signal receptor on the display is exposed
to direct sunlight.
Solutions:
(1) Change the batteries.
(2) Check that the batteries are properly inserted
according to the + and – markings.
(3) Ensure that the Remote Control has a clear
line of sight to the display unit.
(4) Move the Remote Control closer to the
receiver on the display unit.
When the screen is frozen...
Park your car at a safe place, and cut the
engine off. Turn the ignition key back to "Acc
off". Then start the engine again, and turn the
power to the main unit back on. If this does
not solve the problem, press the reset button
on the main unit.
If the display suddenly disappears
(For AVIC-9DVD)
When using the Navigation System with
another manufacturer's display, if the display
suddenly disappears, setting of the image
output may have changed.
Set again by following the instructions below.
1. Park your car in a safe place, and pull the
side brake.
2. Turn the power of the main unit off (cut off
the engine).
3. While pressing [ ] (AUDIO) button on the
bottom left of the numeric keypad of the
Remote Control, turn the ACC on (start the
engine).
Image output is switched, as the image of the
navigation (RGB image) is output from RCA
Video output, and the image is displayed on
the screen.
Messages and How to React to
Them
The following messages may be displayed by your
Navigation System.
There are occasions when you may see error
messages other than those shown here. In
such a case, follow the instructions given on
the display.
(1) "You cannot use this function while
driving."
When:
While trying to make a menu selection.
What to do:
Pull over and come safely to a halt, put the park-
ing brake on, and then try again.
(2) "This is not the appropriate disc.
Please insert the appropriate disc."
When:
(1) If you try to use a disc which is incompatible
with this system (including the old version
map disc).
(2) If you insert a disc upside down.
(3) If the disc is dirty.
(4) If the disc is cracked or otherwise damaged.
What to do:
(1) Insert a suitable disc.
(2) Insert the disc with the label upward.
(3) Clean the disc.
(4) Insert a normal, round disc.
(3) "Irregular speed pulse signal is
detected. Please power off the system
and check the installation. After you
have checked, please re-boot the sys-
tem and press "OK"."
When:
If the Navigation unit does not receive the car
speed pulse.
What to do:
Consult your Pioneer dealer.
