5.2.8 Firmware Upload

1. Complete the setup for the adjustment. (See "Preparation for
Adjustment" on page 72.)
2. Copy the firmware provided by EPSON to the hard disk. (Firmware is
usually compressed with bin file.)
3. Set the dial switch to "Communication mode".
4. Select "Firmware" of upload.
5. File open dialog will appear for you to select the place file is stored.

6. Select the latest firmware and click "open".
7. LED on the front side of the camera will blink for 20 seconds and notifies
you that the upload is being normally performed. (You cannot check this
LED when you removed SY1 board.)
Adjustment
During the firmware upload, if the power is shut down or
C A U T I O N
if the serial communication cable is taken off, it may result
in the defective flash memory. Never perform other
operation until "Complete" is indicated.
When performing the firmware upload, Hyper function,
direct print function and print mark function will be
deleted at the same time. After completing the upload, re-
install these 3 functions by using "Uploader" attached
with the product.
8. When it comes close to the Upload completion, the camera beeps once
and notifies you that the camera finishes read-in operation and starts
writing into Flash Memory operation.
Be careful not to confound this beep sounds that notifies you
C A U T I O N
that the starts writing into Flash Memory operation with the
one at the end. Check if the indication on the camera says
"Completion".
9. After a few seconds (1-2 seconds), the writ-in operation is completed and
the camera beeps once again. "Complete" is indicated on the program
screen to show upload is completed.
10. Press OK button.
