8. To run the internal loopback test for the card, click the Test button.
If you have not yet rebooted the system after installing the card driver, a dialog
box is displayed, prompting you to reboot the system. For best results, click the
OK button to reboot the system prior to running diagnostics.
During this test, packet data is sent across the MAC chip to verify that traffic can
be sent and received through the card. During the test, the Diagnostics window
displays messages similar to those listed below, indicating that the test is in
progress and the results of the test:
• Diagnostic firmware loaded OK (when running the test for the first time)
• Running diagnostic test
• Test completed OK
• Normal card firmware loaded OK
When the test has been completed, the result (Passed/Failed) is shown in the
Internal Loopback Test field.
