Using the Franklin PC Desktop
Copying Files to Your Device
Your device is not limited to the books
it comes with. You can copy eBooks, RSS
eNews, mp3 music fi les and other fi les
to expand and personalize your device.
Note: Once you have begun using
your Mobipocket Reader for Franklin
to download and install RSS eNews
subscriptions, any updates to these fi les
will automatically update to your device
when you connect it to your PC.
Try copying an mp3 fi le to your device:
1. Double-click
desktop.
The Franklin PC Desktop opens.
2. Make sure your device is
connected to your PC.
See "Connecting Your Device" on
page 55 for more information.
3. Click
to open Windows
Explorer.
Note: Your "My Music" folder is
automatically opened as well as your
device's "Audio" folder and the MMC/
SD's "Audio" folder, if one is installed
in your device.
Note: In order for your device to see
mp3 fi les, they need to be copied
into the "Audio" folder on your device
or MMC/SD card.

Using the Franklin PC Desktop
4. Starting in your "My Music" folder,
fi nd an mp3 fi le you want to copy
to your device.
5. Right-click an mp3 fi le you want to
copy to your device and then click
"Copy" from the pop-up menu.
6. Look for the additional windows
that opened when you clicked
Franklin Flash refers to a drive
that stores general purpose fi les,
including your phone book fi les and
My Vocabulary List. You can write to
this drive, but available memory is
limited. This may appear labelled as
My Stuff .
Franklin SD/MMC refers to the drive
of any removable MMC/SD installed
in your device. Available memory is
determined by the size of the card.
If you have formatted the card using
the Utilities in your device, this will
appear as My Card. This may appear
labelled as Removable Disk.
Note: When you open My
Computer, you also see the drive
labelled My Handheld. This refers to
a drive that contains your device's
primary content. This drive is read-
only.
