Looking Up Words Almost every entry in this Thesaurus has a brief definition and a related list of synonyms or Classmates. (Classmates are words related by subject.) Some entries include idioms and ant- onyms. Note: Many words have more than one thesaurus entry.

Viewing Confusables Confusables are words that sound alike or are spelled similarly. Whenever a ? alternately flashes with arrows to the right of a word, that word has Confusables. Try this example. 1. Type reign . 2. Press ENTER. Notice the flashing ? at the right of the screen.
Correcting Misspellings Don’t worry if you misspell a word; a list of spell- ing corrections will automatically appear. Try this example. 1. Type a misspelled word. 2. Press ENTER. 3. Press to highlight a correction, if needed. If you see a flashing T , that word has a thesaurus entry.

Finding Letters Use the question mark key to stand for un- known letters when you’re not sure how to spell a word. You can use more than one question mark in a word. Try this example. 1. Type a word with ?’s for letters. 2.
Finding Parts of Words The asterisk stands for a series of unknown letters. Use it to find suffixes, prefixes, or any fragment of a word. You can type more than one asterisk in a word. 1. Type a word with one or more ’s. 2.
Placing Notes Use the Personal word list for personal study or review. You can save up to 99 words in your list if they are words from this Thesuarus. Once you add your own words to the list, however, the number of words you can save decreases. Here is how to add and view your first word.
Removing Notes You can remove words from your Personal word list one at a time or you can erase the whole list at once. Here is how. Deleting a Word 1. Press LIST. until you see Delete From List . 2.

Playing the Games Deduction Deduction challenges you to guess the mys- tery pattern represented by the four question marks. Type letters (a-f) and then press EN- TER. You can use a letter more than once. Af- ter entering your guess, a scorecard appears showing the number of correct letters Per- fectly located (P) or Misplaced (M).
