Enabling the mute feature

Suppose you are holding a telephone conversation and you want to say something without the
correspondent hearing you.
Placing the correspondent on hold and then taking the call on the
same extension
Suppose you have a call in progress with a correspondent and you want to place the
correspondent on hold and then subsequently take the call on the same extension.

Suppose you are holding a call with a distant correspondent and you want to continue the call
on an extension in another office.

The microphone of the handset is silenced and you will hear
reminder beeps.
Your correspondent will not be able to hear you speak.
