8, 9, 10, 11: Removing the Top Cover Assembly,
Paper Feed Rod/Light Pipe, Reset Rod, and Paper
Feed Button

Procedure (See illustration next page.)

To remove or replace the Paper Feed Rod/Light Pipe, Reset Rod, and
Paper Feed Button, you will need to remove the Top Cover Assembly.
Tools: Flat-blade screwdriver
1. Open Rear Cover and remove the paper from the printer. Leave the
cover open.
2. Disconnect all the cables from the printer.
Caution: Electrostatic Discharge could damage the Control or
Options PC boards. Wear a grounded wrist strap and use a static mat
or other ESD protected work surface when handling electronic
components.
3. Remove the Top Cover Assembly by pushing the two tabs at the
bottom rear of the paper bucket towards the back with a flat-blade
screwdriver. Place the Top Cover Assembly on a flat surface
4. Remove the Paper Feed Rod/Light Pipe from the front right of the
Printer Base, by lifting it up and out of the slot. Note its position for
reinstallation.
5. Remove the Reset Rod on the left side of the unit by lifting it up
and out of the slotted holder in the base. Note its position for
reinstallation.
6. Tip the Top Cover Assembly up to access the Paper Feed Button
from below. Remove the button by pinching in on the two outer
tabs until the button pops up. Continue to push on the center tab
until the button can be removed. Note the compression spring
around the center tab.
