Vacation Mode
Use this mode when hot water is not needed for an extended period of time.
Default for vacation days is set at 7 days. Vacation days can be changed from 1 to 14 days.
In this mode, the control will drop the water temperature down to 50ºF and will use the most-efficient
heating mode to conserve energy while the heater is sitting idle.
The unit will automatically resume heating 1 day before the total input of set vacation days.
For example, if no hot water is needed for 14 days, follow these steps:
1. Select VACATION by using the Mode button
2. input total days you will be gone (in this example, 14) by pressing the UP arrow button (the default is 7
days)
3. press ENTER.
The unit will drop the water temperature down to 50ºF for 1 day less (in this example, for 13 days).
At the end of the 13th day, it will automatically return to the previous operating mode and heat the water to
the original temperature setting, so hot water is available upon return.
in the event of a power loss, the control will stop counting. When power is restored, the control will remain in
vacation mode and resume counting where it left off.
Note: if 1 vacation day is selected, the control will drop the temperature to 50°F for 24 hours.
