REMOVING THE GENERATOR

1. Drain:
9engine oil
(completely from the crankcase)
Refer to "CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL" in
chapter 3.
2. Remove:
9side cowling (left)
Refer to "REMOVING THE SIDE COWL-
INGS" in chapter 3.
9shift pedal
9drive sprocket cover
Refer to "REMOVING THE DRIVE CHAIN
AND SPROCKETS" in chapter 6.
3. Disconnect:
9stator coil coupler 1
9pickup coil coupler 2
4. Remove:
9crankcase cover (left) 1
9gasket
9dowel pins
5. Remove:
9generator rotor nut 1
9washer
NOTE:
9While holding the generator rotor 2 with the
sheave holder 3, loosen the generator rotor
nut.
9Do not allow the sheave holder to touch the
projection on the generator rotor.
