-Change to shooting mode by pressing the shutter button (in replay mode)
While the PowerShot G3 in replay mode, users can change to shooting mode by pressing the shutter button
halfway. Users won't miss shutter chances thanks to this feature.
- USB interface accepts multipurpose connectors
The shape of the USB connector on the PowerShot G3
body has been changed to a standard "mini B" type
(found on the PowerShot S30/S40). Superior versatility
is gained as a result.
- Independent white balance/exposure compensation controls and function button improve operability
The PowerShot G3 makes a great improvement in operability by assigning exposure compensation and white
balance to independent buttons.
Also a new function button has been created. By pressing the function button and operating the cross-configured
buttons, the following items can be selected and then set following the item's prescribed procedure.
- Manual focus adjustment with better usability
Although it is possible to adjust the focus manually while viewing the LCD monitor on the PowerShot G3, it is
sometimes difficult to bring the subject into focus on the LCD monitor due to patterns and designs on the
subject.
To improve this area, a new focusing arrangement has been made possible that makes use of the autofocus
function. Specifically, a rough focus setting is made by rotating the electronic dial left and right. Next,
pressing the set button while in this state detects the correct focus position by automatically scanning
both in front and behind the current focus position.
Furthermore, the distance display switchover point of the MF lamp displayed on the LCD monitor has been
changed from the previous 1 meter to 50 centimeters, thereby improving usability.
