Revision Wildcat Beta fi rmware is unreleased, unsupported, non-production code. We expect that there are bugs
in this code. It is released expressly in order to preview future functionality and to fi nd bugs and errors through
user's experience. Use at your own risk. We strongly recommend against using for any type of critical production
or recording. Unreleased fi rmware should only be tested by users with a thorough understanding of the operation
of the 7-Series Recorders. Revert to the present release revision, 1.11, for critical use and support.

  • Page 6 Setup Menu option DRIVE: SPEED TESTS. The Drive Repair feature has been completely removed from the 788T. If media repair or recovery is needed, Sound Devices recommends using a computer with software specifi cally designed to repair or recover digital media. Using these types of tools will provide more control and effectively increase the chance of media repair or recovery.
  • Page 7 788T User Guide Addendum The following functions are now performed within the Drive Directory Options Menu: • Rename (the Drive/Folder) • Empty Trash (and False Takes) • Set Copy Flags • Erase (Formats the Drive) • Clear Copy Flags Perform the following steps to the access the Drive Directory Options Menu.
  • Page 8 Exit the Setup Menu by pressing the soft X (Brightness) key or the Stop key. Begin rolling time code from the master time code source. The 788T recorder will display the Record Pending message immediately after detecting a time code signal.
  • Page 9 Because of the automatic SRC, any digital input can be fed with any sample rate (from 32k to 192k) while the 788T is clocked off of its internal sample rate. One of the benefi ts of the automatic SRC is that each digital input can be fed from a different source without having to word clock all of the devices together.

    788T User Guide Addendum To help protect the ears of all 788T users, a brief mute is applied to the inputs when Phantom Power is engaged/disengaged. The gain level of the various headphone bells has also been reduced. At the request of many 788T users, we have added a few additional headphone monitor modes.
