What might
seem to be a malfunction
in your unit may
just be the result of slight
misoperation
or miswiring.
Before calling service, first check the following
table
for possible
problems.
General
? The power does not turn ON.

The fuse has blown.
m After checking for short crrcuits in the wires, replace the fuse with

with the same racc&.

No ACC position on vehrcle ignitron.

Connect the same wire to the ignmon as the battery wire
? Nothing
happens when the buttons
are pressed.

The computer chip in the unrt is not functioning
normally.
w Press the reset button on the unrt (page 5).
? There's a source you can't switch.

There's no tape inserted.
m Set the media you want to lrsten to. If there's no medra rn this
unrttyou~can't
switch to each source.

There's no CD inserted.
m Set the media you want to listen to. If there's no media rn this
unit, you can't swatch to each source.

The Disc changer isn't connected.
w Connect the DISC changer. If the DISC changer Isn't connected to
it's Input terminal. You can't swatch to an external disc source.
? The memory
is erased when the ignition
is turned
OFF.

The battery wire has not been connected to the proper termrnal.

Connect the wrre correctly, referring to the sectron on

wares or wiring harness are connected incorrectly.

wares or the wiring harness correctly.

The cassette tape is bad.
m Try playing another cassette tape. If works fine, the first tape was
bad.
? The sound quality
is poor or distorted.

One of the speaker wires IS berng pinched by a screw in the car.

Check the speaker wiring.

Reconnect the speaker wares so that each output termrnal IS

? The text is not scrolled.

This is because eight or less characters are displayed.
m If all the characters are drsplayable on the drsplay part, the text IS
scrolled once when the display switches, and after that, the text
is not scrolled.
? The Security
Code item isn't displayed
in the Function
System.

The Security Code function is already activated.

? The Touch Sensor Tone doesn't
sound.
