InsightServer offers a simple method to remotely access your network video
recorders and cameras (up to a million) from almost any PC or cell phone.
Setting up and maintaining remote access to video surveillance on any network is a
challenge for any IT department. InsightServer and Smartvue S8 self-configuring
technologies offer guaranteed remote video access across NATs, firewalls, and web
proxies. InsightServer incorporates the most comprehensive implementation of the
IETF standards STUN, TURN and ICE for 100% firewall and NAT traversal with more than
95% of remote access completed peer-to-peer in UDP-enabled networks. Smartvue S8
traverses simple NATs, nested NATs, UPnP gateways, firewalls, and web-proxies using
UDP, TCP or HTTP.
REGIST ER T O INSIGHT SERV ER
To enable InsightServer remote access, select the option ENABLE REMOTE ACCESS to
enable remote video access through the InsightServer. Select the option ENABLE
SOFTWARE UPDATES to enable the automatic downloading of new software updates
for the NVR and cameras from the InsightServer. Enter the SERVER ADDRESS for the
InsightServer (the default is www.insightserver2.com).
InsightServer Settings
If your NVR is not registered to the InsightServer, a warning icon will be displayed. To
register to the InsightServer click on the REGISTER icon.
InsightServer Status
The REGISTER screen will appear. Enter e-mail, password, first name, and last name then
click on the SAVE button. The InsightServer confirmation will appear.
