Advanced Camera Settings
Resolution
Sets the resolution of the video from that camera. The default is D1 format or 720x480.
The option is 320x280.
Video Format
Sets the format of the video to be recorded. The default format is H.264, which offers
the best quality and compression. The option is MPEG4.
Enable Analog Video Input (Disables Sensor)
This disables the camera's lens and sensor and accepts an analog video (and audio)
signal from the input on the back of the camera. This enables covert or other types of
analog cameras to be integrated with the system.
Frame Rate
The default frame rate is 30 frames per second. The lowest frame rate is 5 frames per
second. A lower frame rate at a fixed bit rate will result in higher quality video.
Bit Rate
This is the rate at which the video is compressed and recorded at. The bit rate range is
64-4,608 kbps (kilobits per second). The default is 1,536 kbps or 1.5 mbps (megabits per
second). Reducing frame rate reduces the storage requirement of the video but also
reduces the quality. For high quality at reduced bitrates, consider also reducing the
frame rate. To find out how much video you can store on your NVR use the video
storage calculator at the Smartvue website:
http://www.smartvue.com/html/network_video_storage_calculat.html.
Camera Speaker Volume
Controls the internal speaker volume in the camera and the volume for any external
speaker connected to the camera.
Flicker Settings
Controls the synchronization of video with the electrical current in the environment. If
the video shows a flicker, consider adjusting the flicker from Auto to 50Hz or 60Hz.
