Engine control system (EOBD)
The EOBD (European On Board
Diagnosis) system fitted in the vehicle
conforms with the 2003/76B/EC
(EURO 4) Directive.
This system continuously monitors the
vehicle components connected with
emissions; it also indicates, when the
warning light comes on on the
instrument panel, that the
components in question are in poor
condition.
The purpose is to:
– keep the system efficiency under
control
– indicate when a problem causes an
increase in emissions exceeding the
threshold established by European
regulations
– indicate the need for replacement of
deteriorated components.
In addition, the system includes a
diagnostics connector that can be
interfaced with suitable instruments.
This makes it possible to read the error
codes stored in the control unit,
together with a set of specific
parameters for the engine operation
diagnostics cycle.
WARNING: When the ignition key is
turned to the MAR position, if the
warning light
does not switch on
or if it switches on while driving,
contact the Maserati Service Network
as soon as possible.
WARNING: After the problem has been
eliminated, the Maserati Service
Network personnel is required to
perform tests on the test bench for a
complete check of the system and if
necessary, also road tests which may
even involve long distances.
