Room Tuning –
Mechanical
adjustment of the
boundary frequency
By putting the supplied bass reflex plugs
into the port, you can alter the lower
boundary frequency of the XTZ 89 FRONT.
Also, the treble level might be adjusted in
order to adapt the speaker to your listening
room/ preference.
Deep bass characteristic
With one plug inserted into the upper bass
reflex port the deepest possible bass
reproductions is achieved. This may be
suitable for smaller rooms.
"Fast" bass characteristic
With one plug inserted into the lower bass
reflex port a "faster" bass reproductions is
achieved. This may be suitable for bigger
rooms.
"Faster" bass characteristic
With no plugs mounted, the bass
reproduction is more powerful and reaches
the highest SPL level.
Closed box (Neutral bass
characteristic)
With all plugs mounted into the bass reflex
port, the speaker operates as a closed box
construction. This works good if the speaker
is mounted very near a wall. Generally, this
setting produces a "tighter" bass.

These adjustments and settings
depend on the size and shape of
the room, and of course your
own preferences. We strongly
suggest you take your time to
try out the optimum settings.
