OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION: The charger must be fully assembled before operating. Refer to "Assembly
Instructions," page 6 for instructions.
The Professional Charger and Starter models CBC 7600 and CBC 7700 charge lead-acid
batteries. You can use the chargers to:
• charge a discharged battery
• perform an engine start to a discharged battery
The CBC 7700 produces a higher current than the CBC 7600 for the normal charge, fast charge,
and engine start. It also contains a voltmeter.
CONTROLS
AMMETER
The AMMETER shows the amount of amps flowing from the charger to the battery.
• CHARGE is the green area with normal charging current.
• START is the red area with high current for engine crank-assist. For more information about
engine crank-assist, refer to "Engine Start," page 8.
VOLTMETER (CBC 7700 only)
The VOLTMETER shows the battery voltage and percentage of the state of charge.
TIMER
The TIMER switch is on the upper right of the charger.
• OFF disconnects the output of the charger.
• HOLD is for charging times longer than 120 minutes.
RATE/VOLTAGE CONTROL
The RATE/VOLTAGE CONTROL switch is on the upper left of the charger. It controls the
voltage and current.
• SLOW CHARGE is 15 A for 12 V batteries.
• FAST CHARGE is 35 A for 24 V batteries or 65 A (70 A for CBC 7700) for 6 V batteries.
• MEDIUM CHARGE is 30 A for 12 V batteries.
• FAST CHARGE is 65 A (70 A for CBC 7700) for 12 V and parallel batteries. Do not use on
small, low capacity batteries.
• ENGINE START is 275 A (300 A for CBC 7700) for cranking or starting an engine with 12
V battery.
