Error Messages and Warning Messages

If an error occurs while the unit is operating, or if you
make an inappropriate operation, an error message or
warning message appears on the video monitor.
The following table shows the meaning of each
message, and the appropriate action to take.

Meaning
There is a fault in the MD drive, and as a result
a verify error occurred in the management
information file during recording; the disc is
ejected.
There is a fault in the MD drive, and as a result
a verify error occurred when a disc was inserted
or when the unit was powered on with a disc
inserted; the disc is ejected.
When the currently inserted disc was last being
accessed, the unit was powered off. As a
result, the size check on the management
information file now produces an error.
There is a fault in the MD drive, and as a result
an Initialize/All erase operation failed, or after an
Initialize/All erase operation, a verify error
occurred; the disc is ejected.
A disc of an incompatible PICTURE MD format
with a higher version number was inserted.
Alternatively, after such a disc was inserted, an
attempt was made to access it.
There is a fault in the MD drive, or the disc is
corrupted, and as a result the TOC (Table of
Contents) of the current disc cannot be read.
Action to take
Contact your Sony dealer.
