6 IR CONTROL AND BI-DIRECTIONAL IR

The B-300-HDMATRIX supports three IR paths.
IR Receiver
IR that is used to control switcher.
IR Input to Room
IR that is sent from the switcher to locations connected via the B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR.
IR Output From Room and All IR Out
IR that is sent from locations connected via the B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR to the switcher.
3
CAUTION: Connections 1 and 2 provide power for IR receivers that can damage flashers and
Automation Systems. Check carefully before plugging an IR Flasher or IR Receiver into the
respective IR sockets. Warranty will not cover the damage.
See Section 5 IR Control Connections for proper cabling.
1. IR Receiver
In addition to using the front panel IR receiver, the B-300-HDMATRIX may also be controlled with IR using the rear
panel IR Receiver Input. Connect an IR Receiver or Automation System to control the switcher functions such as
source (inputs) and output selection. This connection only provides control of the switcher, IR sent to this input
is not sent to any other location. Note that when using a Automation System the 12V power must be removed to
avoid damaging those devices as explained in Section 5 IR Control Connections.
2. IR Input to Room
IR signals sent to this input are transmitted via the Cat5E/Cat6 to the B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR connected to the
corresponding B-300-HDMATRIX-4x4 outputs. Connect an IR Receiver or a Automation System for pass-through
of IR signals to a room where a B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR is connected. Note that when using a Automation
System the 12V power must be removed to avoid damaging those devices as explained in Section 5 IR Control
Connections.
3. IR Output From Room
IR from the B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR is transmitted over the Cat5E/Cat6 from the room to the B-300-HDMATRIX-
4x4 and out the corresponding IR Output From Room 3.5mm jack. Connect an IR flasher or Automation Systems
IR input for pass-through of IR signals from a room where a B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR is connected.
For example:
IR signals received from the B-300-HDMATRIX-RCVR connected to Output 4 Cat5/6 are sent to IR Output from
Room jack 4.
4. All IR Out
All IR signals coming from a room via the B-300-HDMATRIX-4x4 (IR Output From Room) are summed on this
output. Connect an IR Flasher, IR Connecting Block or Automation System to this connection. If control of the
B-300 HDMATRIX-4x4 from rooms is required, use an IR Flasher connected to the From Room output or the All IR
Output, and place near the IR Receiver on the front panel of the B-300-HDMATRIX-4x4.
