D. Finishing Material
Only doors certifi ed for use with this appliance model may
be used. Contact your dealer for a list of doors that may be
used. Once you have determined what kind of door and
fi nishing material is going to be used on the fi replace, you
may use the table below which shows the door models
and the fi nishing material thickness allowed. For an inside
fi t there is an available template (METRO-TEMPLATE) to
assist with sizing the fi nishing material.

Clean Finishing Technique
Note: If the clean fi nishing technique is desired, it is nec-
essary to increase the rough opening depth dimension
of the framing by 1/2 inch. It is necessary to increase
the rough opening depth from 16-1/4 inches to 16-3/4
inches.
The rough opening framing should be fl ush with the front
face of the appliance. The front surface of the appliance
will be recessed 1/2 inch from the front of the framing.
The factory-installed nailing tabs will not work properly on
the side of the appliance which the clean fi nishing tech-
nique is applied. It is acceptable to use plumber's strap
to secure the appliance if desired.
The clean-fi nishing technique requires the appliance front
surface to be covered with non-combustible sheathing.
See Figure 13.18 and 13.19. It is necessary to follow
all of the requirements in Section 13.C when overlapping
materials onto the face of the appliance.
