Installing the Software Driver on Windows 98 or
Windows 98 Second Edition
This section describes the procedure used to install a software driver on a PC running
either the Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition operating system. A software
driver is required to operate the Modem. You have a choice of two different drivers, the
LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network) driver. Only one driver is
needed to operate the Modem and only one driver should be installed. The following
instructions can be used for either the LAN or WAN driver since the installation
procedure is identical for both. If you are not sure which driver you should install, see
the previous section Which Driver to Install for more information.

Install the Driver

The Plug and Play feature will automatically detect the Modem as soon as the USB
cable connects the Modem and the PC, you will be prompted to begin the installation
with the following window:
After the Modem-to-PC USB connection has been made, the "Add New Hardware
1.
Wizard" window will be displayed. Insert the Installation Disk in the CD-ROM
drive if you have not already done so, and click the Next button.
