8. Replace filter, matching
rounded flap with rounded side of
dirt cup (opposite side that slides
onto handle).
Clearing obstructions
Removing larger items from carpet and other surfaces before vacuuming
will help prevent obstructions in the nozzle or dirt passageway, and
maintain the cleaning effectiveness of your cleaner.
To check for obstructions, first
turn cleaner Off and disconnect
cord from electrical outlet.
Remove dirt cup; remove any
obstruction from dirt passageway.
The bottom plate may be removed
it there is an obstruction in the
nozzle. See "The Belt" section.

Disconnect cleaner from
electrical outlet.
The filter protects the motor from
dirt particles. Brush dirt from filter
when emptying dirt cup. If a
significant reduction in pick up is
observed, the filter may be
washed in warm water. Filter must
be completely dry before replac-
ing it in cleaner. Do not use
cleaner without filter in place.
Avoid picking up oily debris that
may damage filter.
9. Slide dirt cup completely onto
handle making sure latch is secure.
