[LVF] button (Switching the Monitor/Viewfinder)

Press [LVF] to switch between the Monitor and Viewfinder.
A Eye sensor
[LVF]/[Fn5] button can be used in two ways, as [LVF] or as
[Fn5] (function 5). At the time of purchase, it is initially set
to [LVF/Monitor Switch].

Press [LVF].
The monitor/viewfinder will switch as follows:
Automatic viewfinder/
monitor switching
¢ If [Eye Sensor AF] in the [Custom] menu is set to [ON], the camera automatically adjusts the
focus as the eye sensor is activated.
You can also switch between the viewfinder and the monitor in [LVF/Monitor Switch] in [Eye
Sensor] in the [Custom] menu.
Using the eye sensor to switch between the Monitor and Viewfinder
Automatic viewfinder/monitor switching enables the eye sensor to switch the display to the
viewfinder automatically when you bring your eye or an object near it.
[
] will be displayed for a few seconds after you have enabled automatic viewfinder/monitor
switching or performed certain other operations.
Eye sensor might not work properly depending on the shape of your eyeglasses, the way you
hold the camera, or bright light shining around the eyepiece. In that case, press [LVF] to switch
the display.
During motion picture playback or a slide show, the camera does not automatically switch the
display to the Viewfinder with the eye sensor.
You can set the eye sensor sensitivity in [Eye Sensor] in the [Custom] menu.
When the viewfinder surface becomes dirty, remove the eyecup, blow away the dust with a
blower (commercially available), and wipe the surface lightly with a dry, soft cloth.
