TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
The compressor works ab-
normally with a buzzing
noise
Water indicator light is on
Ice full indicator light is on
Window display or indicator
lights are off
Warning indicator is dis-
played
Warning indicator flashes for
20 seconds
The ice made is too large
and with pieces sticking to-
gether
Ice appears cloudy
Not all freezing bars makes
ice
Ice full indicator is on but ice
is not full
Conditions for ice making
cycle are right but no ice is
made
Possible Causes
The voltage is lower than rec-
ommended
There is not enough water in
the reservoir
Ice basket is full to the top
Blown fuse/ no power/blown
breaker
Ice Shovel cannot rotate
Ice Full sensor is faulty
The water temperature in the
storage tray or ambient is too
low
Due to fast freezing, ice cubes
may appear "cloudy", this is
trapped air in the water and
does not affect the taste or
quality of the ice.
Amount of water in the reser-
voir is insufficient
No water in the reservoir
When the unit is first started,
refrigerant may not be flowing
to all freezing bars
Ice Full sensor is obstructed
Build up form on the sensor
Refrigerant leaks/ sealed sys-
tem is blocked

Solutions
Stop the ice maker and do not restart until
the voltage is normal
Press the ON/OFF button to shut off, fill
with water, wait for 3 minutes and press
the ON/OFF button again to restart
Remove some of the ice
Replace fuse / turn power on
Check if ice cubes are blocking or ob-
structing the ice shovel.
Contact Whynter Service Department
Stop the machine and reset the ice
making cycle
Restart the machine after
turning it off
This is normal
Make sure that water is at MAX level be-
fore using the portable ice maker
Run the unit for a couple more cycles and
all bars should be frozen
Make sure that there are no obstruction or
objects aligned with the ice full sensor
Remove the ice cubes from the ice basket
and close the lid
Use a mild vinegar solution to clean the
sensor
